About the Role:
We are seeking a passionate and motivated Junior Sous Chef to join the kitchen team at Bridgeway Hotel.

Working closely with the senior kitchen team, you’ll take a hands-on role in food preparation and service, help guide junior chefs and support the smooth day-to-day running of the kitchen.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced Chef de Partie ready to step into kitchen leadership, or a current Junior Sous Chef looking for a new challenge. You’ll build your leadership and operational skills while contributing to quality bistro dining and function catering.

Key Responsibilities:

- Support the senior kitchen team with daily kitchen operations

- Take ownership of your section and assist in coordinating busy services

- Prepare and present dishes to consistent standards of quality and presentation

- Guide junior chefs and apprentices, helping develop their skills and confidence

- Assist with stock control, ordering, stock rotation and minimising wastage

- Contribute ideas for seasonal specials and menu development

- Support food preparation and service across bistro dining and functions

- Maintain food safety, HACCP, WHS and kitchen cleanliness standards

- Communicate effectively with the kitchen and front-of-house teams to support smooth service

About You:





- Experience as a Junior Sous Chef or an experienced Chef de Partie ready to progress

- Relevant commercial cookery qualifications

- Experience working in a busy pub, bistro or similar high-volume kitchen

- Strong cooking skills and a commitment to consistency, quality and presentation

- Confidence supporting junior team members and a willingness to develop your leadership skills

- An understanding of stock control, portion control and food waste management

- Good organisation and communication skills, with a calm approach during busy services

- A hands-on attitude and willingness to learn from the senior kitchen team

- Full Australian working rights as sponsorship is not available for this role

Please note: This is a full-time role requiring flexibility to work across a rotating seven-day roster, including evenings, weekends and public holidays.
