We are seeking a caring, reliable and professional Casual Funeral Director’s Assistant to join our team, supporting our services across the Port Macquarie and Laurieton areas.

About the Role

As a Funeral Director’s Assistant, you will play an important role in supporting our team to deliver respectful and seamless funeral services. Your responsibilities will include:

- Assisting with the preparation and delivery of funeral services.

- Providing respectful and dignified care to deceased persons.

- Supporting funeral directors with service arrangements and day-to-day operational duties.

- Assisting with the transfer and transportation of deceased persons as required.

- Preparing vehicles and equipment to ensure services are presented to the highest standard.

- Treating grieving families, colleagues and members of the community with compassion, sensitivity and professionalism.

- Maintaining high standards of presentation, care and attention to detail at all times.

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

- Compassionate, empathetic and respectful in their approach to others.

- Reliable, punctual and well presented.





- Comfortable working in a role that requires sensitivity, discretion and professionalism.

- Physically capable of undertaking the practical requirements of the position, including assisting with transfers and moving equipment.

- Flexible and available to work on a casual basis, including varying hours and occasional weekends as required.

- A confident communicator who works well both independently and as part of a team.

- Willing to learn, with a positive attitude and a genuine desire to support families.

Previous experience in the funeral industry would be advantageous but is not essential. We welcome applications from individuals with transferable skills in customer service, care, hospitality, transport or other people-focused roles.

A current driver’s licence is required.
