About Us

Assist Community Services is a locally based NDIS provider supporting people with disability throughout Townsville. Our goal is to empower participants to live independently, achieve their goals and have choice and control over their lives.

The Opportunity

We're looking for caring, reliable and motivated Lifestyle Support Workers to join our Supported Independent Living (SIL) team.

This role involves supporting a participant with complex needs who may display behaviours of concern, including:

- Physical & verbal aggression towards others

- Throwing objects

- Property damage

We're looking for people who can remain calm in challenging situations, follow behaviour support strategies and provide safe, consistent and respectful support.

Experience supporting complex behaviours is highly regarded, but we also welcome applicants who are resilient, willing to learn and eager to develop their skills. Training and ongoing support are provided.

What You'll Be Doing

- Assisting with personal care, daily living tasks and medication.

- Supporting independence, skill development and community participation.

- Following Positive Behaviour Support Plans and individual support strategies.

- Responding safely and calmly to behaviours of concern.

- Completing shift notes and required documentation.





- Working as part of a supportive team.

Availability:

Workers must be available to work a mix roster of:
Day shifts: 8:00am - 3:00pm
Evening shifts: 3:00pm - 8:00pm
Active Night Shift: 8:00pm - 8:00am

Essential Requirements

You must have, or be willing to obtain before commencing:

- Current driver's licence and access to a registered, comprehensively insured vehicle.

- First Aid and CPR Certificate.

- Blue Card (where required).

- NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (Yellow Card).

- NDIS Worker Orientation Module.
