Troocoo is partnering with a well-established and rapid-growing Australian organisation to appoint a governance manager within its product division. Sitting in the first line of defence and reporting to the Head of Risk, you will shape how the division governs its policies, procedures and decision-making forums.
About the role
You will establish and maintain the operational governance framework for the division, ensuring policies and procedures are robust, consistent and compliant. The focus is on product development and pricing, and you will work across the business to turn governance initiatives into practical, well-documented outcomes. The role includes managing a direct report.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee the division’s compliance with design and distribution obligations and continue to develop its product governance arrangements.
- Partner with the second line to respond to regulatory change and keep an eye on what is coming next.
- Set the documentation strategy for the division, including a document hierarchy aligned to the broader group policy framework.
- Lead the drafting, review and approval of product and pricing policies and procedures, and identify and close gaps in existing documentation.
- Manage committee charters and terms of reference, and support governance forums with accurate papers and decision tracking.
- Keep policies and procedures current by managing review cycles and approvals to agreed timelines.
- Embed clear operational controls and reporting requirements within governance documents.
- Contribute to a program that lifts the standard of writing across the division, particularly for board and committee papers.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders to support successful delivery of governance initiatives.
About you
- A bachelor’s degree in business, finance, risk management, law or a related field.
- Around five years of experience in operational governance, compliance or technical writing, including time in a leadership capacity, ideally within insurance or financial services.
- Proven experience drafting and managing product and pricing policies and procedures.
- Experience maintaining committee charters and supporting governance forums.
- A solid understanding of governance frameworks, regulatory compliance and internal control environments.
- Strong communication and influencing skills, with the confidence to contribute to senior discussions.
- The ability to quickly learn how a division operates and the regulatory landscape around it. Experience in an operational product or pricing role is advantageous.
What’s on offer
- A visible role shaping governance across a growing division.
- A high-performance, high-integrity culture with development opportunities and job security.
- A permanent position with a direct report.
