Performance-Driven Culture
Join a business that values initiative, accountability and results, where your contributions are recognised and your success creates opportunities for further growth.
---------------------
THE OPPORTUNITY:
As Club Manager, you will be responsible for the performance of the club.
Your role will combine sales, leadership, member experience,
marketing and day-to-day business management. You’ll be expected to be hands-on, visible and proactive, leading from the front rather than managing from behind a desk.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Driving new membership sales and achieving club sales targets.
- Improving member retention and reducing avoidable cancellations.
- Leading, coaching and developing the club team.
- Setting clear expectations and holding team members accountable for results.
- Managing the day-to-day operations of the club to a consistently high standard.
- Developing and implementing local sales and marketing initiatives.
- Building relationships with members, local businesses and the surrounding community.
- Monitoring key club performance indicators and identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Delivering an exceptional member experience and resolving issues professionally.
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, presentation and club operations.
- Recruiting, training and developing team members as required.
- Taking ownership of the club’s performance and continuously looking for ways to improve it.
- Leading by example and creating a positive, energetic and high-performance culture.
---------------------
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
We’re looking for someone who wants to build a career, not simply fill a position. You’ll ideally be someone who is commercially minded, competitive and enjoys setting targets and achieving them. Most importantly, you need to be comfortable with sales and accountability.
---------------------
TO BE SUCCESSFUL YOU WILL HAVE:
Proven sales ability
You can demonstrate a history of hitting or exceeding sales targets and are comfortable asking for the sale.
Leadership experience
You have previously led, coached or supervised a team and understand how to get the best out of people.
Strong commercial awareness
You understand that a successful gym is a business. You are comfortable looking at numbers, identifying problems and taking action.
Ownership mentality
You don’t wait to be told what needs to be done. You identify opportunities, solve problems and take responsibility for outcomes.
Excellent communication skills
You can build genuine relationships with members and confidently communicate with staff, management and business partners.
High energy and positive attitude
You enjoy being around people, creating an energetic environment and bringing others along with you.
Strong organisational skills
You can manage competing priorities without losing sight of the things that drive club performance.
A genuine passion for fitness
You don’t necessarily need to be a lifelong fitness professional, but you should genuinely believe in the value of health, exercise and helping people achieve their goals.
Confidence with technology and business systems
Experience with Microsoft Office, social media, CRM/member management systems and reporting tools is highly regarded.
Flexibility
The role requires availability for some evenings and Saturdays.
---------------------
Who This Role Is NOT For
This role will not suit someone who:
- Is uncomfortable with sales or working toward targets.
- Needs to be constantly directed or micromanaged.
- Prefers an administrative role rather than a hands-on leadership position.
- Is not comfortable being accountable for results.
- Doesn’t enjoy leading, coaching and managing people.
- Is looking for a job primarily to work out or spend time in a gym.
If you thrive on targets, enjoy leading people and want to build something, we’d like to hear from you.
---------------------
Previous fitness industry management experience is highly regarded, but we are also open to exceptional candidates from sales, retail, hospitality or other customer-focused industries who can demonstrate robust leadership and sales performance.
