Simran Auto Care is a family trust business in automotive repair and maintenance, operating since 2018. We service and repair a wide range of vehicles and are committed to high-quality workmanship and customer satisfaction. Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced, qualified Motor Mechanic to join our Rocklea workshop.

Position details

- Position: Motor Mechanic

- Employment type: Full time, permanent (38 hours per week)

- Salary: $80,000 – $85,000 per annum plus superannuation

- Location: On-site, Rocklea QLD 4106

Key duties and responsibilities

- Diagnose, repair and maintain customer vehicles, including engines, transmissions, brakes, steering, suspension and electrical systems

- Carry out scheduled servicing, including oil and filter changes, lubrication and engine tune-ups

- Use computerised diagnostic equipment to detect faults and test components

- Dismantle, inspect, repair or replace and reassemble engines, systems and components

- Identify mechanical faults, vehicle stability issues and abnormal tyre wear

- Perform tyre, wheel alignment and suspension services





- Conduct vehicle inspections and issue safety certificates in line with Queensland requirements

- Operate vehicle hoists safely and conduct road tests

- Advise customers on repairs needed and report potential safety hazards found on vehicles

- Follow workplace health and safety (WHS) procedures and keep the workshop clean and safe

Skills, qualifications and experience

- Certificate IV and Diploma in Motor Mechanics (or a relevant automotive equivalent)

- At least 2 years’ experience as a qualified motor mechanic

- Licences and certifications required to work as a motor mechanic in Queensland (Approved Examiner authorisation for safety certificates, or the ability to obtain it)

- Current driver’s licence

- Sound knowledge of WHS practices

- Strong communication, problem-solving and time management skills

- Able to work both in a team and unsupervised

- Able to perform the physical requirements of the role, including lifting, bending and working under vehicles
