VET Building & Construction (Carpentry) Teacher/Trainer

Northern College of the Arts and Technology – Preston VIC

We are seeking an experienced Building & Construction Teacher to join our team at the Northern College of the Arts & Technology in Preston from the beginning of the 2027 school year. This is a 0.6 role, where you will play an significant role in helping to shape the next generation of skilled tradespeople.

NCAT has unique, cutting edge trades and technology facilities which includes a trade training centre with extensive workshop spaces for Building & Construction, Engineering, Electro-technology, Integrated Technologies, Automotive, Furniture/Woodwork areas including a specialist Musical Instrument Making & Repair area and a dedicated Plumbing area.

Key responsibilities

Delivering quality instruction in building and construction to Years 10-12 students

Assessing student performance and providing constructive feedback

Collaborating with colleagues to continuously improve teaching methods and student outcomes

Ensuring a safe and productive learning environment for all students

About you

Experience working as a qualified tradesperson in the building and construction industry





Must have completed a Certificate III in Carpentry or equivalent

Have completed or be in the process of completing a TAE Certificate IV in Training & Assessment

A passion for education and working with young people

A team-oriented approach and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues
