About the role
Water & Earth Services is looking for an experienced Retaining Wall Builder / Structural Landscaper to join our team.
We specialise in concrete sleeper and sandstone block retaining walls across Brisbane and surrounding areas. This is a hands‑on role suited to someone who takes pride in their work, is reliable, and consistently delivers quality results.
We’re looking for someone keen to become a long-term member of our team.
Key responsibilities
- Construct concrete sleeper and sandstone block retaining walls.
- Read and follow plans, engineering drawings and site specifications.
- Set out walls, check levels and prepare sites for construction.
- Complete excavation, post installation, concreting and drainage work.
- Safely operate excavators and other relevant tools and machinery.
- Maintain a high standard of workmanship throughout each project.
- Communicate professionally with clients, answer questions and raise any concerns with the supervisor.
- Work effectively with supervisors and other team members.
- Keep work areas tidy and follow workplace health and safety requirements.
What we’re looking for
- Proven experience in retaining wall construction or structural landscaping.
- Experience building concrete sleeper and sandstone block walls.
- More than 3 years’ excavator operating experience is essential.
- Ability to follow plans, take accurate measurements and work to specified levels.
- Confidence using relevant tools and equipment.
- Strong customer service and communication skills, with a professional and respectful approach to clients.
- Solid attention to detail and practical problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliability, punctuality and a robust work ethic.
- Ability to carry out physical work in outdoor conditions.
- A valid driver’s licence and reliable transport.
- A current Construction White Card.
- Relevant trade qualifications and first aid certification will be highly regarded.
