My Peak Tuition is seeking tutors to support primary and secondary students at our Inala tutoring centre. You'll teach small classes of up to six students, with individual tutoring opportunities also available. Primary tutoring focuses on English and Mathematics. Secondary tutoring is matched to your knowledge and experience with different maths and english streams (General, Methods, Specialist etc.). We prepare the learning materials and lesson structure to aid you in helping students understand and apply the knowledge.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver engaging lessons using our learning resources and session structure
- Explain concepts clearly and adapt your approach when students need extra help
- Keep students focused through calm, positive classroom management
- Check understanding, mark work and provide helpful feedback
- Record brief progress notes and communicate with the team
- Arrive prepared,
on time and maintain consistent attendance
About you
- A current Queensland Blue Card or appropriate teacher exemption card
- Clear communication and confident interpersonal skills
- Relevant experience and strong knowledge of maths and english
- Reliable transport to attend your agreed sessions
- Warm, organised, reliable and able to explain ideas in a way students understand
- Comfortable guiding a small group and willing to learn from feedback
Availability
Our classes run weekday afternoons from 4:30-6:30pm, Saturday 9-11am and Sunday 9-11am, 12-2pm and 2-4pm.
