The Velvet Cafe Pty Ltd trading as Cup and Corner is a neighbourhood café located on Kiln Road in Kirrawee, Sydney. Key responsibilities

- Plan and develop menus featuring breakfast and lunch dishes, seasonal food options and menu items suited to Cup and Corner's café offerings and customer preferences
- Ensure food quality, consistency, portion control and presentation standards are always maintained
- Prepare, cook and present high-quality dishes in accordance with menu specifications and recipe standards of Cup and Corner
- Oversee daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, plating and service timing
- Supervise, select, train and coordinate kitchen staff and food preparation personnel
- Ensure adequate inventory levels and make sure of timely order of ingredients to maintain adequate stock levels
- Negotiate with suppliers of Cup and Corner to obtain quality ingredients at competitive prices
- Ensure Cup and Corner's compliance with food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety regulations




- Communicate effectively with front-of-house staff of Cup and Corner regarding customer dietary requirements, allergies and special requests
- Inspect food preparation and serving areas to ensure observance of food safety and sanitation standards

About you

- Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery, Diploma of Hospitality Management, or a related qualification
- At least 1 year of relevant experience as a Chef
- Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen operations
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent time management and organisational skills
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to food quality
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene requirements
