What You'll Be Doing

As a Engineering Supervisor, you will support the Director of Engineering in ensuring the hotel's facilities, systems, and equipment are maintained to the highest operational and safety standards. Your responsibilities will include:





- Supervising and coordinating the day-to-day activities of the Engineering and Handyperson teams
- Leading preventative maintenance programs across guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house facilities, and building services
- Managing Out of Order (OOO) rooms to ensure timely rectification and return to inventory
- Allocating, prioritising, and monitoring reactive and preventative maintenance work orders
- Conducting regular inspections to identify maintenance requirements and safety risks
- Coordinating engineering support with Housekeeping, Front Office, Food & Beverage, Events, and Security teams
- Monitoring the performance and condition of building services, plant equipment, air conditioning systems, pumps, boilers, kitchen equipment, and lighting systems
- Managing contractors and service providers to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to hotel standards
- Assisting with refurbishment projects, capital works, and asset improvement initiatives
- Supporting emergency response activities and providing leadership during operational incidents
- Acting as the department representative in the absence of the Director of Engineering or Senior Assistant Chief Engineer

What We're Looking For

- Previous supervisory experience within a hotel, hospitality, or large commercial property environment




- Trade qualifications in Electrical, Mechanical, HVAC, Building Services, Carpentry, Plumbing, Refrigeration & Air Conditioning, or a related discipline
- Solid knowledge of preventative maintenance planning and building services
- Demonstrated experience managing contractors and coordinating multiple priorities
- Sound understanding of Workplace Health & Safety legislation and safe work practices
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Strong leadership capability with a hands-on, service-oriented approach
- Ability to build positive relationships across all hotel departments
- Flexibility to work a rotating roster including mornings, evenings, weekends, and public holidays
- Relevant licences and certifications will be highly regarded, including Fire Safety/Warden, Work at Heights, or Confined Space certifications
