This part-time role (approximately 1-2 days per week) provides practical administrative, coordination and digital support across a range of workforce and industry development activities in Queensland. This is a contract role until December 2027.
Working closely with the ISJA, you’ll play a key role in keeping projects organised, preparing information, co-ordinating meetings and communications, and proactively following up on actions and deadlines.
We’re particularly interested in someone who is comfortable using AI and digital tools and is always looking for smarter and more efficient ways of working. You don’t need to be an AI expert – we’re looking for someone who enjoys technology, is keen to use current tools and willing to learn.
This is an excellent opportunity for a student, early-career professional, or someone looking for flexible part-time work who wants to build experience in administration, project support, stakeholder engagement and the broader world of industry and workforce development.

- Coordinate meetings, appointments and stakeholder communications.
- Prepare documents, presentations, correspondence and meeting materials.
- Take clear notes and help track follow-up actions.
- Maintain accurate contact and stakeholder information.
- Contribute to research, information gathering and preparing summaries.
- Help with communications, newsletters, updates and other project materials.
- Use AI and digital tools to improve efficiency and support day-to-day work.

- The ability to learn quickly and pick up new systems and processes.
- A positive, helpful and collaborative approach.
- The ability to work independently and manage your time.
- Professionalism when communicating with different people and organisations.
You don’t need to tick every box to apply. If you are a student, graduate, returning to the workforce, changing careers or simply looking for a adaptable opportunity to build your skills, we encourage you to get in touch.
Experience in administration, project support, retail, personal services, VET or industry would be helpful, but attitude, curiosity and willingness to learn are just as important.
About Us:
The Australian Retail Council (ARC) is the unified voice for the retail community in Australia. It represents a $444 billion sector that employs 1.4 million Australians across metropolitan, regional, and remote communities – making retail the largest private sector employer in the country and a significant contributor to the Australian economy.
