Senior Mechanical & Piping Designer

Adelaide | 12 months contract

About the role

This opportunity sits within a Mining, Minerals & Metals project environment and focuses on delivering high-quality mechanical and piping design solutions across studies, FEED, detailed design, brownfield modifications, and major project development. Working as part of multidisciplinary teams, the role supports 3D modelling, piping layout, equipment arrangement, and coordinated design delivery with a solid focus on safety, quality, schedule, and constructability. This position offers exposure to complex process plant and infrastructure work across both greenfield and brownfield execution phases.

Required Experience

- Extensive mechanical and piping design experience within Mining, Minerals & Metals projects
- Experience across FEED, detailed design, EPCM, construction support, and commissioning environments
- Proven experience supporting brownfield and greenfield project execution
- Project exposure in areas such as mineral processing plants, hydrometallurgical or pyrometallurgical facilities, comminution and screening circuits, bulk materials handling systems, mining infrastructure, water or slurry infrastructure, or major equipment and package engineering

Required Skills

- Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Engineering Design, Mechanical Engineering, Drafting, or equivalent qualification




- Ability to develop and coordinate mechanical and piping design deliverables in line with project requirements, engineering procedures, and applicable standards
- Strong capability in 3D modelling, equipment layouts, piping routing, isometrics, support details, plot plans, and design drawing production
- Experience coordinating interfaces with process, structural, civil, electrical, and instrumentation disciplines
- Ability to integrate vendor and third-party 3D models into a federated project model
- Experience conducting clash detection, model quality reviews, design reviews, and constructability reviews
- Proficiency in one or more of E3D, SP3D, Plant 3D, AutoCAD, Navisworks, or MicroStation
