Senior Legal Assistant
Full-time Temporary with a Possibility of Permanency

Details: We are seeking motivated and versatile Senior Legal Assistants to join the Legal Support Unit within the ACT Government Solicitor.

The Senior Legal Assistant will work under the guidance of a team leader and as part of a busy team, providing high level administrative support in a dynamic, professional environment.

While maintaining a high level of confidentiality and discretion, the Senior Legal Assistant is required to respond quickly to business needs, adhere to tight timeframes and consistently deliver excellent legal support services.

This chance will suit someone who demonstrates strong organisational and interpersonal skills, and the ability to provide excellent support to solicitors within a team environment. If you possess these skills, exhibit strong attention to detail, and hold good judgement in a variety of situations, you should consider this role. Please note that this position does not require any previous experience in a legal environment.

Eligibility/Other Requirements: A police check is required for this position.

Note: This is a temporary position available for up to 12 months with the possibility of permanency. A merit pool may be established for the purposes of recruiting similar positions in the future.

Shortlisted applicants may be asked to complete a brief work test assessment at interview. The assessment may include a practical scenario-based question related to service delivery, stakeholder engagement and attention-to-detail.

Note: Under the ACTPS employment framework you may be placed in another role where required for the productive administration of the service.

Where an offer of employment is for a fixed-term period, any related temporary contracts within the Territory will be issued in compliance with the requirements and applicable exceptions outlined in the Fair Work Act.
