Job DescriptionSenior Financial Accountant | $120k + super + salary packaging | Flexible working arrangements availableYour new companyThis well established, not-for-profit organisation operates within the community services sector and has a broad and complex operating environment. With a strong values led culture and an established finance function, the organisation is continuing to strengthen its financial capability and is seeking an experienced Senior Financial Accountant to join the team.Your recent roleReporting to the Financial Controller, you will take ownership of the technical financial accounting function and provide guidance and support to a small team. This is a hands on role suited to someone who enjoys a fast paced and complex environment and is confident taking ownership of their area. Key responsibilities will include:Managing month end and year end financial accounting requirementsPreparing and reviewing balance sheet reconciliationsSupporting the preparation of statutory financial statementsBAS/IAS preparation and complianceFixed asset accounting and reconciliationsEnsuring compliance with relevant accounting standardsSupporting internal and external audit requirementsReviewing financial information and identifying discrepanciesProviding technical accounting support across the organisationSupporting and guiding a small finance teamDriving improvements to financial accounting processes and controlsWhat you'll need to succeedTo be successful,
you'll be an established Financial Accountant or Senior Financial Accountant with strong technical accounting experience gained within a complex organisation. You'll also bring:CPA or CA qualification (or equivalent)Strong technical financial accounting knowledgeDemonstrated month-end, year-end and statutory reporting experienceExperience working within a complex, fast paced environmentThe ability to work autonomously and take ownershipA proactive and solutions focused approachStrong communication and stakeholder management skillsPrevious leadership, mentoring or supervisory exposure (highly regarded though not essential)Experience working within the not-for-profit sector (highly regarded though not essential)What you'll get in returnYou'll join an established organisation in a senior and visible finance position, with the opportunity to take genuine ownership of technical accounting. The salary for this position is circa $120,000 + superannuation + salary packaging.
