Job Overview

We are seeking a Professional Engineer specialising in Bridges, Structures, Ports and defence to join our dynamic engineering team in Sydney, Australia. In this role, you will contribute to the design, analysis, and delivery of complex structural projects. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop creative, cost‑effective solutions that meet engineering standards and client requirements. Key Responsibilities

- Design and analyse bridge structures, including preliminary design, detailed engineering, and construction documentation using industry‑standard software and methodologies.
- Develop structural solutions for port and maritime infrastructure projects, such as wharves, breakwaters, jetties, and marine facilities.
- Conduct finite element analysis (FEA) and structural modelling to evaluate design performance and ensure compliance with Australian building codes and standards.
- Prepare comprehensive engineering reports, calculations, and technical specifications for stakeholders and regulatory authorities.
- Collaborate with architects, project managers, and other engineering disciplines to integrate structural requirements into overall project delivery.
- Maintain quality standards and safety protocols.
- Perform site inspections and assessments to evaluate existing structures and identify design constraints.
- Support continuous improvement of engineering processes and practices by contributing creative ideas and solutions.
- Ensure all designs comply with relevant Australian Standards, building codes, and environmental regulations.
- Communicate technical findings and recommendations to clients,



contractors, and internal teams in a clear and professional manner.

Qualifications

- Minimum 3 years of professional experience in structural engineering, with demonstrated expertise in bridge design and/or port infrastructure projects.
- Strong proficiency with structural analysis and design software including MIDAS, SAP2000, Strand 7 or equivalent programmes.
- In‑depth knowledge of Australian standards, and regulatory requirements for structural design.
- Solid understanding of bridge engineering principles, including load analysis, material selection, and construction methodologies.
- Experience with port and maritime infrastructure design, including marine environmental considerations.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to prepare technical documentation and present findings to diverse audiences.
- Qualified engineering licence or eligibility for registration with Engineers Australia is preferred.
- Experience working on large‑scale infrastructure projects in the Australian market.
