J+P Building Solutions is currently working on some of Melbourne’s most architecturally ambitious and design-led builds. We’re looking for an experienced structural engineer to join our team and contribute meaningfully to this work.

This is a genuine opportunity to build a high-profile portfolio on projects that stand out - bespoke architectural homes and a broad range of commercial developments, all delivered alongside Melbourne’s most reputable architects and builders. You’ll do it within a skilled, team-oriented team that supports each other to do their best work.

What you’ll be working on

Our current pipeline is anchored by a series of striking, design-led residential builds that are among the most architecturally significant homes currently under construction in Melbourne - alongside boutique multi-storey residential projects and a diverse commercial workbook spanning industrial, retail and mixed-use developments.

In all of it, you’ll be working closely with some of the city’s most respected architectural and construction practices, and gaining access to advanced, highly specialised structural design knowledge that is rarely available outside firms of this calibre.

Day to day, you’ll be

- Leading structural design and documentation on high-profile architectural and commercial projects
- Collaborating directly with leading architects and builders across a prestigious and varied project portfolio
- Conducting site inspections and providing construction support on some of Melbourne’s most notable current builds
- Contributing to peer reviews, independent certification, feasibility studies and value engineering




- Supporting and mentoring junior engineers as our team continues to grow

What we’re looking for

- 3-5 years of structural engineering experience in Australia
- Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
- Strong technical capability in structural analysis and design to Australian standards
- Experience across residential and/or commercial project types
- Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD and analysis software (SpaceGass or similar)
- High attention to detail and solid analytical and problem-solving skills
- A flexible, open-minded approach - a willingness to learn, adapt and adopt new design methods and techniques
- Experience in civil and stormwater drainage design
- Familiarity with geotechnical design principles, including retaining walls and foundations - preferred but not essential
- A collaborative approach and genuine enjoyment of working as part of a high-performing team
