About Flexalite

Flexalite is an established signage, exhibition and display manufacturing business specialising in retail displays, shopfitting, signage, joinery, exhibitions, corporate branding and custom manufacturing solutions.

With in-house design, production and project management capabilities, we work with a diverse range of clients to deliver quality products from concept through to manufacture and installation.

Our factory is a fast-paced environment where multiple projects run simultaneously and deadlines are important. We are focused on improving our processes, strengthening our team and maintaining high standards across production, quality and workplace safety.

About the Role

Flexalite is seeking an experienced Factory Floor Manager / Foreman to lead our production team, coordinate daily workloads and ensure jobs are completed to the required quality standards, on time and within budget.

Ideally, you will have experience in shopfitting, exhibition, joinery, signage, display manufacturing or a similar industry. A strong understanding of materials, fabrication techniques and manufacturing processes is essential.

You will be responsible for managing approximately 10–20 factory staff, overseeing workflow efficiency, maintaining workplace standards and ensuring production priorities are met.

This is a leadership role requiring someone who can organise people, make sound decisions under pressure and maintain a professional, positive approach. You must be comfortable holding people accountable while treating staff fairly and respectfully.

You will work closely with the Production Manager and Workflow Coordinator, who will provide direction on job priorities, scheduling and production requirements.

Key Responsibilities

1. Daily Planning & Workflow

- Work with the Production Manager and Workflow Coordinator to plan and prioritise daily and weekly workloads.

- Follow production priorities based on deadlines,

allocated labour hours and business requirements.

- Allocate staff to tasks according to their skills, experience and availability.

- Adjust staffing and workloads as priorities change to maintain efficient production flow.

2. Team Leadership & Performance

- Lead, organise and coordinate a team of 10–20 factory staff.

- Ensure staff understand their responsibilities, job priorities and deadlines.

- Maintain clear expectations around productivity, workmanship, attendance, behaviour and accountability.

- Address performance and conduct issues fairly, professionally and promptly.

- Lead by example and promote a productive, respectful workplace.

3. Communication

- Maintain regular communication with the Production Manager, Workflow Coordinator and office team.

- Identify and communicate potential delays, errors, material shortages and quality concerns early.

- Ensure issues are raised promptly and solutions are implemented to minimise disruption.

4. Materials & Stock Control

- Monitor general factory consumables, hardware and packaging supplies.

- Maintain appropriate stock levels and coordinate replenishment with suppliers.

- Ensure materials are stored correctly and unnecessary waste is minimised.

5. Incoming & Outgoing Goods

- Ensure incoming materials and goods are identified with the correct job numbers.

- Arrange photographs and notify the relevant Project Managers or Designers when goods arrive.

- Ensure outgoing jobs are checked, correctly packed and prepared for protected transport.

- Ensure all required quality control checks and sign-offs are completed before goods leave the factory.

6. Training & Technical Support

- Provide practical guidance, training and mentorship to factory staff.

- Support the development of staff skills, workmanship and productivity.

- Apply your technical knowledge to resolve manufacturing issues and guide staff through difficult tasks.

7. Tools, Machinery & Equipment

- Maintain an organised factory with tools stored correctly, labelled and accounted for.

- Manage tool control and lost property, ensuring missing items reported.

- Assist with diagnosing machinery issues and coordinate servicing or repairs when required.

8. Quality Control

- Oversee finishing standards across joinery, signage,

metalwork, acrylic, exhibition displays and other manufactured products.

- Identify and resolve quality issues before jobs are submitted for office approval or dispatched.

- Ensure quality control documentation, stickers and sign-offs are completed correctly.

9. Workplace Health & Safety

- Maintain a clean, organised and safe factory environment.

- Ensure staff follow workplace safety procedures and maintain tidy work areas.

- Address unsafe practices and hazards promptly.

- Take ownership of the overall condition and organisation of the factory floor.

10. Hands-On Assistance

- Provide practical support when required to resolve production issues, assist with complex jobs or meet deadlines.

- Use sound judgement to determine when direct involvement is necessary.

- Maintain a primary focus on leadership, staff coordination and production efficiency rather than undertaking routine manufacturing tasks yourself.

About You

The successful candidate will ideally have:

- Experience managing or supervising a factory or production team within shopfitting, exhibition, joinery, signage, display manufacturing or a related industry.

- Strong knowledge of manufacturing materials, fabrication methods and production processes.

- The ability to organise and direct 10–20 staff effectively.

- A calm, level-headed approach when managing competing priorities and tight deadlines.

- Strong communication, problem-solving and decision-making skills.

- The ability to set expectations, manage performance and hold staff accountable fairly.

- A proactive approach to identifying problems and implementing practical solutions.

- A commitment to quality workmanship, workplace safety and maintaining an organised factory.

- A positive, professional attitude and the ability to lead by example.

You must be comfortable taking responsibility for the factory floor, making decisions within your role and ensuring the team remains focused on agreed production priorities.

Working at Flexalite

We aim to maintain a workplace where people are treated fair, expectations are clear and everyone takes responsibility for their work.

In return, we expect professionalism, initiative, accountability and a genuine commitment to achieving quality results.

Working Days

The role is primarily Monday to Friday and occasional Saturday work may be required to meet production demands and maintain workflow schedules.

Flexibility is important, alongside effective planning and coordination to minimise unnecessary delays and last-minute pressure.
