About the role
We are seeking an Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our finance team on a full time, fixed-term contract basis for 6 months. Based in Derrimut, Victoria, this role is integral to maintaining the accuracy and efficiency of our accounts receivable function. You will be responsible for managing customer accounts, processing invoices, and ensuring timely collection of outstanding payments. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills in credit control and accounts receivable management within a professional team environment.
What you'll be doing
- Processing and recording customer invoices in the accounting system with accuracy and attention to detail
- Monitoring and managing customer accounts to ensure payments are received on time
- Preparing and sending statements and payment reminders to customers
- Following up on overdue accounts and coordinating payment arrangements with customers
- Reconciling accounts receivable ledgers and investigating discrepancies
- Maintaining accurate records of all transactions and customer communications
- Assisting with credit control procedures and implementing company credit policies
- Supporting the finance team with general administrative tasks as required
- Liaising with customers to resolve payment queries and billing issues
What we're looking for
- Proven experience in accounts receivable, credit control, or a similar accounting role
- Strong proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel
- Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise workload effectively
- Attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping
- Professional communication skills, both written and verbal, for customer interactions
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work independently
- Understanding of basic accounting principles and invoicing processes
- Relevant qualifications or experience in accounting or finance is advantageous
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information
