The Old Noarlunga Hotel is looking for an enthusiastic, hands‑onAssistant Venue Managerto help lead our team and deliver the welcoming service our guests come back for.

Known affectionately as “the Oldy”, our venue brings together dining, a front bar, beer garden, gaming and functions. As part of Duxton Pubs, we combine the character of a local pub with the connection of a broader South Australian hospitality group.

The opportunity

Working closely with the Venue Manager, you’ll help keep daily operations running smoothly, support the team and maintain high standards across the venue.

This role could suit an experienced Assistant Venue Manager looking for a fresh opportunity, or a capable Duty Manager ready to take the next step.

What you’ll be doing

- Leading from the floor and supporting the team through busy services.
- Helping oversee bar, dining, gaming and function operations.
- Coaching team members and building their confidence, skills and accountability.
- Creating positive guest experiences and responding professionally to feedback.
- Assisting with rostering, wage control,



stock management and cash handling.
- Maintaining service, presentation, safety and compliance standards.
- Supporting the Venue Manager and taking responsibility for the venue in their absence.

What you’ll bring

- Experience in pub operations, ideally as a Duty Manager, Supervisor or Assistant Venue Manager.
- A warm, approachable leadership style and clear communication.
- The confidence to make decisions, solve problems and keep calm when service gets busy.
- An understanding of labour costs, stock control and the daily running of a venue.
- A commitment to responsible service, gaming compliance and workplace safety.
- Availability to work across a seven-day roster, including evenings, weekends and public holidays.
