Melbourne City Apartments is seeking a Receptionist / Room Checks / Minimum Cleaning Required to join our team on a part-time basis / full time basis.
You will have had experience with hotel booking systems and have worked in a hotel as a receptionist.
This role is based in South Melbourne, VIC 3205 and is essential to delivering excellent guest experiences and maintaining the smooth day-to-day operations of our apartment complex. You will be the first point of contact for our guests, managing check-ins and check-outs whilst also conducting room inspections and performing light housekeeping duties to ensure our apartments meet the highest standards of cleanliness and presentation.
What you'll be doing
Greeting guests upon arrival and managing check-in procedures with warmth and professionalism
Processing guest check-outs and conducting thorough room inspections to ensure compliance with our quality standards
Performing light cleaning and tidying tasks including vacuuming, dusting, and basic bathroom maintenance
Responding to guest enquiries and requests promptly and courteously, resolving issues where possible
Maintaining accurate records of room bookings, guest information and maintenance issues
Reporting any damages, maintenance concerns or items requiring attention to management
Ensuring common areas remain clean, welcoming and well-maintained
Restocking supplies and ensuring rooms are prepared for incoming guests
Supporting the broader housekeeping and operations team to maintain service excellence
What we're looking for
Experience in reception, guest services or hospitality roles, ideally within apartment management or hotel environments
Demonstrated housekeeping knowledge with practical experience in room cleaning and maintenance standards
Solid interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact positively with diverse guests
Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards
Reliability and punctuality, with the flexibility to work part-time hours as required
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Physical fitness to perform light cleaning duties throughout your shift
Basic computer skills and familiarity with booking or property management systems (desirable)
A professional appearance and approachable demeanour
