Newcastle Panel Care is seeking motivated 2nd or 3rd Year Apprentices in Panel Beating or Automotive Spray Painting to join our growing automotive repair and refinishing workshop. We specialise in SMART repairs (Small to Medium Area Repair Technology), automotive paint and panel repairs, bumper repairs, minor dent repairs and vehicle refinishing. You'll have the opportunity to spend real time developing your skills through genuine hands-on experience, proper guidance and meaningful responsibilities.
Key responsibilities
- Spray Painting Apprentices:
- Applying automotive basecoats and clearcoats
- Spray gun setup, technique and paint application
- Colour matching and blending techniques
- Surface preparation, sanding and masking
- Applying primers, fillers and undercoats
- Minor cosmetic and SMART repairs
- Paint finishing, polishing and quality control
- Completing repairs from preparation through to the finished product
- Minor to medium dent repairs
- Body filler application and shaping
- Panel removal, replacement and refitting
- Repairing bumper bars and exterior panels
- Preparing repaired panels for refinishing
- Working with up-to-date SMART repair techniques
- Developing accuracy, efficiency and quality workmanship
About you
- Currently completing your 2nd or 3rd year apprenticeship in Panel Beating or Automotive Spray Painting
- Basic practical knowledge of your chosen trade
- A positive attitude, reliability and attention to detail
- Willingness to learn, take feedback and develop professionally
