Pre-Uni New College Oakleigh is seeking a reliable, confident and highly organised Assistant Centre Coordinator / Senior Tutor to join our team. This is a part-time position designed for someone who can act as the second point of responsibility within the centre, supporting the Branch Manager with the day-to-day academic and operational running of the campus. Alongside teaching, you will help supervise tutors, support students and parents, oversee classes, respond to issues as they arise and assist with ensuring the centre operates smoothly and consistently.

Key responsibilities

Support the Branch Manager with the day-to-day operation of the centre

Act as a second point of contact for tutors, students and parents when the Branch Manager is unavailable

Oversee classes and ensure tutors are prepared, punctual and following expected teaching standards

Provide guidance and support to tutors regarding lesson delivery, classroom management and student concerns

Assist with tutor induction, training and ongoing mentoring

Monitor student progress and identify students requiring additional support, extension or follow-up

Assist with resolving classroom, behavioural or academic issues

Communicate with parents regarding student progress, concerns and general academic matters when required





Support administrative staff during busy periods and assist with coordinating students and classes

Assist with assessment preparation, marking processes, academic resources and class organisation

About you

Responsible, approachable and able to take initiative

Comfortable making decisions and communicating with students, parents and staff

Previous tutoring or teaching experience is highly preferred

Robust communication and organisational skills

Confident working with children and teenagers

Mature and able to handle sensitive situations professionally

Experience supervising, mentoring or supporting other tutors will be highly regarded

Must be available to work on Fridays and Saturdays
