About the Role
An exciting opportunity for an experienced CAD Co-ordinator to work in a high performing team environment. Every new building, refurbishment and transformed learning space at Macquarie University starts with accurate, reliable data. As our CAD Coordinator, you’ll play a key role in maintaining the digital information and technical systems that support the University’s built environment, enabling informed decisions across space planning, asset management and project design and delivery. This is an exciting opportunity within our Property Division, with a newly reclassified role that reflects the growing technical expertise required across CAD, BIM/Revit and Archibus. You’ll have the prospect to make a real impact by strengthening CAD standards and governance, improving processes, and contributing to automation and system integration initiatives across these platforms. Working collaboratively with our Strategy & Planning and Project Management teams, as well as a broad range of internal and external stakeholders, consultants and contractors, you’ll help ensure our property data is accurate, consistent and fit for purpose. If you’re passionate about technical precision, digital innovation and improving the way information supports the built environment, this is your opportunity to shape the systems and standards behind the spaces where our university community learns, works and connects.
Reporting to the Space Planning Data Manager, you will manage and develop the University's CAD database, Archibus system and BIM/Revit models, ensuring data integrity, system quality and accessible,
accurate drawing and asset information.
Key Accountabilities

- Coordinating and administering 'as-built' CAD documentation received from consultant teams and contractors for inclusion in the University drawing database using AutoCAD (Autodesk).
- Maintaining all drawings within the CAD database to current naming and layering conventions and owning CAD standards governance including drawing quality reviews and audits.
- Managing the Archibus system, including data integrity, drawing integration and system quality assurance, and identifying, troubleshooting and resolving system issues or escalating where appropriate.
- Maintaining, reviewing and coordinating BIM and Revit models that inform planning, project delivery and asset management outcomes.
- Leading the development, implementation and monitoring of CAD design standards and procedures to meet customer requirements and industry benchmarks for continuous improvement.
- Developing and maintaining a central drawing database for authorised user access and assisting the wider Property Division with drawing and documentation requirements.
- Contributing to automation, process improvement and integration initiatives across the CAD, BIM and Archibus platforms, and providing ongoing and ad-hoc reporting and data visualisation of space utilisation.
