About EPX EPX Limited is a global leader in building performance optimisation. Our EDGE platform powers energy and operational efficiency across real estate in 26 countries, helping reduce waste and improve outcomes. With bold growth ambitions, a customer-first mindset, and trusted expertise, we’re driving the transition to a net zero built environment — one building at a time. The role: As our Senior Technical Services Engineer, you’ll be EPX’s senior technical authority for building services, HVAC, BMS/BEMS, metering and building performance optimisation. Combining hands-on customer delivery with technical leadership, quality assurance and team development, you’ll lead complex investigations, strengthen engineering standards and translate operational insights into practical improvements for customers, products and processes across Australia and New Zealand. What you’ll do:
• Lead technical delivery across assigned customer portfolios in Australia and New Zealand, using EDGE and other data sources to identify energy, water and operational improvement opportunities.
• Diagnose complex HVAC, BMS/BEMS, metering, plant and building-performance issues through root-cause analysis of operational, utility and building-system data.
• Develop practical, evidence-based optimisation and rectification recommendations and verify that implemented improvements achieve the intended outcomes.
• Lead technical reviews, customer reporting, site visits, escalations and high-priority investigations while building trusted stakeholder relationships.
• Review and approve complex technical analysis, reports and customer recommendations, and continuously improve engineering standards, methodologies and quality controls.
• Coach and mentor engineers,
lead knowledge-sharing and technical training, and act as a senior escalation point for technical guidance.
• Collaborate with Product, Software Development, Design and Projects teams to define, test and validate improvements to EDGE, MARS and associated services.
• Maintain safe, compliant and high-quality delivery in line with EPX policies, WHS requirements, customer obligations and relevant legislation. What you’ll bring:
• A bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of qualifications and significant industry experience.
• Extensive experience across HVAC, building services, BMS/BEMS, energy management, facilities engineering or building-performance optimisation.
• Advanced knowledge of HVAC and central plant, BMS/BEMS, utility metering, building-services engineering, energy management and performance optimisation.
• Demonstrated success diagnosing complex performance issues, interpreting BMS trends and control strategies, and developing practical optimisation solutions.
• Experience leading technical investigations, engineering reviews and customer-facing engagements, with the ability to balance technical depth, commercial priorities and customer outcomes.
• Strong coaching, stakeholder engagement, written communication, presentation and facilitation skills.
• A proactive,
accountable approach, sound judgement and the ability to prioritise effectively in a rapid-paced, international environment.
• Experience with commissioning, controls optimisation, performance analytics, fault detection or commercial property stakeholders will be highly regarded.
