Role Description The Release Train Engineer (RTE) will serve as a servant leader and coach for Agile Release Trains, facilitating program-level ceremonies and ensuring alignment across teams and stakeholders. This contract role is based in Canberra in a hybrid working model, combining on-site collaboration with the option to work from home part of the week. Day-to-day responsibilities include coordinating release planning, managing cross-team dependencies, monitoring delivery progress, and removing impediments that impact the flow of value. The RTE will work closely with Product Management, engineering teams, and leadership to support continuous integration, maintain release schedules, and drive consistent improvement in delivery practices. The role also involves tracking key metrics, fostering transparency,



and promoting Agile and SAFe best practices across the organization. Qualifications
• Strong Release Engineering and Release Management skills to coordinate and execute complex, multi-team releases.
• Demonstrated Program Management experience, including managing dependencies, risks, and stakeholder communication.
• Familiarity with Software Development processes and practices to effectively support and collaborate with technical teams.
• Hands-on experience with Continuous Integration environments and tools to enable reliable, repeatable delivery pipelines.
• Experience acting as a Release Train Engineer or similar role within Protected or large-scale Agile environments.
• Solid understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and scaled frameworks (SAFe), with proven facilitation skills.
• Excellent communication, conflict-resolution, and collaboration abilities, with a focus on servant leadership.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid setting in Canberra, managing both in-person and remote interactions.
• Relevant certifications such as SAFe Release Train Engineer (RTE), SAFe Agilist, or PMI/Agile certifications are beneficial.
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
