About the role
In this role, you will be a key member of a small team responsible for the development and implementation of policy initiatives and projects that advance Create NSW and DCITHS priorities, across government. You will contribute to policy work from early development through to delivery, supporting effective and meaningful governance and informed decision making. You will prepare high‑quality written materials, including briefs, correspondence, presentations, reports, agendas and meeting minutes, and provide secretariat support to meetings and forums, ensuring accurate records and timely follow‑up of actions. You will also support the establishment of strategic partnerships and cross-government collaboration by convening agencies around shared priorities, coordinating inputs, managing consultations and responding to requests for information. Working closely with the Associate Director and the broader Policy and Strategy team, you will monitor progress, help resolve issues and contribute to whole‑of‑government work. The role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple priorities concurrently, and confidence working with senior stakeholders in a rapid‑paced policy environment.
About You You are collaborative and contribute to a positive team culture. You bring good judgement, professionalism and resilience, along with an interest in, or connection to, the creative industries and cultural sector. You are a capable and proactive policy professional with strong written communication skills, strong presentation skills; and the ability to produce clear, accurate and well-structured briefs, agendas, presentations and meeting minutes. You are highly organised, bring a positive and can do attitude, and can manage competing priorities and tight deadlines with confidence. You have experience providing governance or secretariat support, establishing and maintaining strategic partnerships with senior government stakeholders, supporting executive decision-making through strategic advice, implementation insights and performance reporting; or working within structured decision‑making forums, and you work collaboratively with stakeholders across teams. You enjoy supporting policy work end‑to‑end and take pride in delivering high‑quality outputs that enable informed decision‑making. To learn more
