Pickering Automotive Group is seeking a highly experienced Parts Manager to take responsibility for the day-to-day management of our automotive parts operation.
We are looking for an established automotive parts professional who has extensive industry knowledge and understands how to efficiently manage parts operations within a busy dealership environment.
This is a senior, hands-on position requiring someone who can lead the department, maintain strong stock control, support workshop requirements and ensure the right parts are available when needed.
Previous automotive parts industry experience is essential for this position.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the Parts Department
- Lead, support and coordinate Parts Interpreters and other parts staff
- Oversee automotive parts ordering, receiving and distribution
- Manage stock levels and inventory control
- Ensure accurate identification and interpretation of vehicle parts
- Coordinate parts requirements with workshop and service departments
- Maintain relationships with manufacturers and parts suppliers
- Monitor outstanding and back-ordered parts
- Ensure incoming stock is accurately received and recorded
- Maintain accurate inventory and parts records
- Monitor departmental performance and operational efficiency
- Assist with pricing, purchasing and stock management
- Identify opportunities to improve parts processes and availability
- Maintain an organised and efficient parts operation
- Ensure high standards of internal and external customer service
About You
We are specifically looking for someone with substantial experience in the automotive parts industry.
The successful applicant will ideally have:
- Extensive automotive parts experience
- Previous experience as a Parts Manager, Assistant Parts Manager, Senior Parts Interpreter or similar senior position
- Strong knowledge of automotive parts and components
- Previous dealership experience highly regarded
- Excellent parts interpretation skills
- Strong inventory and stock-control knowledge
- Experience managing or supervising a parts team
- Strong supplier and purchasing experience
- Excellent organisation and problem-solving abilities
- Good computer and parts-system skills
- Robust communication and leadership skills
- Professional, reliable and accountable approach
- Ability to operate effectively in a busy automotive environment
