About the roles

Platform28 is looking for experienced hospitality professionals to join our team in Melbourne Docklands, right next to Southern Cross Station. We have two full-time positions available: Duty Manager and Assistant Manager.

You'll help oversee daily venue operations and deliver exceptional guest experiences. Depending on the position, you'll lead shifts or support the broader management team, helping maintain high service standards and a positive, efficient workplace.

Key responsibilities

- Oversee front-of-house and back-of-house operations during your shifts

- Supervise, support and develop team members

- Respond to guest feedback and resolve concerns professionally

- Follow cash handling, point-of-sale and reconciliation procedures

- Maintain compliance with health, safety and liquor licensing requirements

- Monitor stock and support inventory control

- Help maintain venue cleanliness and safety standards





- Coordinate with kitchen and bar teams to keep service running smoothly

- Assist with reservations, events and seating arrangements

- Share operational updates and raise issues with senior management

What we're looking for

- Experience in a hospitality supervisory or management role, ideally in a busy venue

- Solid leadership and communication skills

- A genuine commitment to excellent customer service

- Confidence handling guest concerns and making sound decisions under pressure

- Knowledge of hospitality health, safety and liquor licensing requirements

- Familiarity with POS systems and hospitality software

- Good organisation, numeracy and multitasking skills

- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and public holidays

- RSA certification; relevant hospitality qualifications or training are an advantage
