About the opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and people-focused leader to join our Network Operations team as a Traffic Services Manager.

In this role, you will lead the delivery of critical traffic management services, including the assessment and approval of signs, pavement markings and traffic signals, the development and implementation of traffic signal and road improvement projects, and the provision of expert road safety and traffic engineering advice on complex traffic matters.

You will also work closely with State and Local Government agencies, reviewing development applications, contributing to policy development and representing Main Roads on traffic-related committees and working groups.

A significant focus of this role is leadership.

You will provide direction, support and guidance to a diverse team, aligning work activities with strategic objectives while fostering a high-performance culture built on collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement.

You will be committed to developing your people, managing employee performance and behaviour, building capability and creating opportunities for growth and succession planning within your team.

We are looking for a leader who embodies the principles of Building Leadership Impact (BLI).

You will be a confident and authentic people leader who leads with integrity, builds strong relationships, and creates an environment where people feel empowered to contribute and succeed.

Your leadership style will be proactive, responsive and inclusive, enabling you to positively influence outcomes, navigate complex challenges and build commitment across a broad range of stakeholders.

Success in this role will require strong problem-solving and decision‑making skills, the ability to balance operational and strategic priorities, and a commitment to working collaboratively across the organisation and with external partners.

You will build and maintain productive relationships with Local Government, the Department of Transport, Public Transport Authorities, and internal stakeholders to deliver positive outcomes for the community.

This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced leader who is passionate about developing people, driving operational excellence and making a meaningful contribution to the safety and performance of Western Australia's transport network.
