About the role

Reporting into the senior construction leadership team, you will take responsibility for the delivery of major data centre construction projects across Western Sydney.

The role will cover the full construction lifecycle, including design coordination, procurement, site delivery, programme management, commercial oversight, contractor performance, commissioning and final handover.

You will act as a key interface between the business, principal contractor, subcontractors, consultants, services teams and senior internal stakeholders.

The environment is fast-paced and highly technical, meaning you will need to be comfortable making decisions,



resolving delivery issues and challenging contractors without relying on a large support structure around you.

Direct data centre experience is highly regarded, however candidates from major commercial, industrial, healthcare, pharmaceutical, defence, electrical infrastructure or other complex construction environments will also be considered where they have held genuine delivery accountability.

Duties

- Lead the construction delivery of major data centre projects on behalf of the client
- Manage principal contractor performance across programme, cost, quality, safety and delivery outcomes
- Identify programme risks, construction issues and potential delays early and drive practical solutions
- Coordinate interfaces across structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical and commissioning teams
- Oversee design coordination, procurement, sequencing and construction planning
- Manage project budgets, commercial issues, variations, risks and contractor performance
- Work closely with services and engineering teams across complex electrical, controls and critical infrastructure systems
- Support testing, commissioning, operational readiness and final handover
- Lead project meetings, site reviews and senior stakeholder reporting
- Provide transparent leadership across internal project teams, contractors and consultants

Skills & experience





- Significant experience delivering major construction projects in a Senior Project Manager, Construction Manager or similar senior delivery role
- Strong background with a general contractor, major engineering contractor or specialist subcontractor operating with significant project accountability
- Proven experience managing complex projects through live construction and delivery rather than purely pre-construction, bid or advisory roles
- Robust understanding of programme, procurement, commercial management, subcontractor performance and construction risk
- Experience across data centres, industrial facilities, hospitals, pharmaceutical facilities, major commercial developments or critical infrastructure highly regarded
- Exposure to complex building services, electrical infrastructure, controls, SCADA, backup systems, redundancy or commissioning advantageous
- Comfortable operating independently within a quick-paced project environment
- Strong leadership capability with the confidence to challenge contractors and drive delivery outcomes
- Stable project delivery history with evidence of seeing major projects or packages through to completion
- Australian citizenship required due to project security requirements
- Take ownership of major critical infrastructure projects from construction through commissioning and handover
