Job Description

Location : Sydney

- Design, implement, and maintain data pipelines for migrating data from Salesforce, Oracle, and SQL Server-based applications to Azure Databricks.




- Collaborate with data architects and business stakeholders to understand data migration requirements and build scalable, efficient data engineering solutions.
- Perform end-to-end data integration tasks, including data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) using Azure Databricks and associated Azure services.
- Develop and optimize data workflows, ensuring high performance, reliability, and data integrity across cloud environments.
- Work with the Azure Data Lake, Azure Synapse Analytics, and other Azure services to ensure seamless integration of data from various sources into Databricks.
- Apply best practices for data governance, security, and compliance within the migration process.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data pipelines, migrations, and system integrations.
- Automate data processes and ensure data quality checks are in place to validate migrated data.
- Provide ongoing support and improvements to existing data pipelines and models, optimizing for speed, efficiency, and scalability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, analysts, and other engineers, to ensure alignment on business requirements and data engineering best practices.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of pipeline designs, codebases, and migration procedures.
- Own delivery responsibility for Engineering – Commercials stream

Qualifications:

- 7+ years of experience in data engineering,



with at least 3+ years of experience in implementing Azure Databricks, Ms Fabric solutions.
- Solid hands‑on experience with data migration from Salesforce, Oracle, and SQL Server environments.
- Proficient in data engineering languages and tools, such as Python, Spark, SQL, and Databricks notebooks.
- Strong understanding of ETL processes, data modeling, and data integration.
- Experience with cloud-based data architecture, particularly in Azure.
- Solid understanding of data governance, security, and compliance practices.
- Ability to work with large data sets, performing data cleansing, data validation, and optimization for performance.
- Familiarity with version control systems such as Git and CI/CD pipelines for data engineering.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and optimize data systems.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with business and technical teams.

Preferred Skills:

- Experience with other data migration tools or platforms is a plus.
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
