Senior Electrical Designer

12-Month Contract | Site-Based - Residential Role | Industrial Processing Operations An established engineering and project delivery organisation is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Designer to support a major operating industrial facility. This is a site-based contract role offering the opportunity to work across sustaining capital projects, shutdowns, brownfield upgrades and improvement initiatives. You will play a hands‑on role in the delivery of electrical and instrumentation design packages, working closely with engineering, operations and project teams from concept development through to construction and commissioning. Key responsibilities

Produce high-quality electrical and instrumentation design deliverables across a portfolio of projects.

Develop practical, fit‑for‑purpose design solutions that consider safety, operability, maintainability and constructability.

Prepare and review design documentation including drawings, layouts and technical deliverables.

Support project execution from concept design through to commissioning and as‑built documentation.

Participate in project reviews, design workshops and multidisciplinary coordination meetings.

Identify technical issues and contribute to the development of effective engineering solutions.

Coordinate with electrical, mechanical, process, structural and control systems disciplines.

Ensure compliance with applicable Australian standards, project requirements and internal design procedures.

Support project planning activities including estimates, schedules, forecasts and reporting where required.

Maintain design quality through checking, review and change management processes.

About you

Advanced Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology or equivalent design qualification.

Electrical trade background highly regarded.

Electrical licence advantageous.

Demonstrated experience in Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I;) design within industrial, mining, resources, manufacturing or heavy process environments.

Robust understanding of project delivery from study and design phases through to construction and commissioning.

Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary project teams.
