Goldenwood is a Sydney family-owned business making custom furniture and joinery. We are looking for a polisher to sand, stain and finish solid timber furniture and joinery in our workshop at 6 Coates Place, Wetherill Park NSW. Part time to start, with full time available as the role grows. Duties
- Sand timber furniture and joinery by hand and machine to a smooth, even surface ready for finishing.
- Match and apply stains and colours to the specification for each piece.
- Apply finishing coats and bring each piece to a clean, even, high-end finish.
- Inspect finished pieces, touch up faults, and protect them ready for delivery.
- Handle finishing products safely, use the right protective equipment, and keep your work area clean and tidy. What you need
- Proven experience sanding, staining and finishing timber furniture or joinery.
- A good eye for colour and an even, consistent finish.
- Careful, patient work and attention to detail.
- Protected handling of finishing products and protective equipment.
Nice to have
- A trade qualification in furniture finishing or polishing.
- Experience with spray finishing.
- Experience with high-end or custom furniture.
- Photos of pieces you have finished. Pay $50 per hour, plus super, with increases as you prove yourself. Hours Part time to start, regular weekday hours, days agreed with you. Full time available for the right person. Start date: as soon as possible.
