About the Role
Sea Shells Cafe and Restaurant is looking for a reliable, passionate and experienced Chef to join our growing team in East Devonport. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing fresh, high-quality meals, maintaining kitchen standards and working closely with the team to ensure smooth and productive service.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of meals to a consistently high standard.
- Assist with daily food preparation and kitchen operations.
- Maintain food quality, presentation and portion control.
- Prepare ingredients and organise the kitchen for daily service.
- Maintain a clean, organised and efficient kitchen.
- Follow food safety, hygiene and workplace safety requirements.
- Monitor stock levels and minimise food wastage.
- Work efficiently during busy service periods.
- Work closely with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service.




- Assist with menu specials and new dish ideas where required. About You
- Previous experience working as a Chef in a commercial kitchen.
- Good knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques.
- Strong attention to food quality and presentation.
- Good organisation and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
- Good understanding of food safety and hygiene requirements.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced workplace. Experience with Sri Lankan cuisine is preferred but not essential.
