Senior Financial Accountant (Group Services & Assets) Ready to take the next step in your finance career with an iconic international retail business? At Michael Hill, we're looking for a Senior Financial Accountant to lead financial accounting, reporting and asset related activities across our Group Services and asset management functions. This is a fantastic opportunity for a technically strong accountant who enjoys partnering with stakeholders, driving process improvements and providing meaningful commercial insights. What You'll Be Doing Reporting to the Finance Manager – Corporate, you'll play a key role in delivering accurate financial reporting and supporting business performance across the Group. Your responsibilities will include:
• Leading month-end reporting processes for Group Services and asset accounting
• Manage the reporting and analysis of Group capital expenditure (Capex), providing insights on budget performance and variances. Reviewing financial results and providing insightful variance analysis
• Managing balance sheet reconciliations and maintaining strong financial controls
• Partnering with project leaders and stakeholders to drive accurate project costing and financial management
• Supporting budgeting and forecasting processes
• Providing technical accounting guidance relating to assets and SaaS arrangements
• Coordinating audit requirements and statutory reporting activities




• Driving continuous improvement initiatives across finance processes
• Mentoring and supporting direct reports while fostering a collaborative team culture What We're Looking For We're seeking a commercially minded finance professional who combines strong technical expertise with the ability to build trusted stakeholder relationships. You'll Bring
• CPA or CA qualification
• Degree in Accounting or a related discipline
• 5+ years' accounting experience
• Strong financial reporting and general ledger experience
• Sound knowledge of IFRS accounting standards
• Experience managing balance sheet reconciliations and month-end processes
• Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities
• Experience working with ERP systems, with Dynamics 365 highly regarded What's On Offer
