/n /n /n Located at the University of Melbourne in Werribee, GVH is a busy 24/7 multidisciplinary veterinary teaching hospital providing emergency, general practice, referral and specialist care. /n Our hospital brings together teams across Internal Medicine, Neurology, Oncology, Surgery, Anaesthesia, Diagnostic Imaging, Emergency & Critical Care and General Practice, creating an environment where collaboration and learning happen every day. /n As a teaching hospital, our nurses also play an important role in supporting and mentoring the next generation of veterinarians. /n Take your veterinary nursing career to the next level /n Greencross Vet Hospital (GVH) is looking for an experienced and passionate Referral Veterinary Nurse to join our multidisciplinary referral team. /n Working across Internal Medicine, Neurology and Oncology, you’ll be exposed to complex and rewarding cases, advanced diagnostics and treatments, and the opportunity to work alongside experienced clinicians and specialist teams. /n If you’re passionate about high-quality patient care, enjoy learning and want to continue developing your clinical skills, this could be the perfect next step in your career. /n As a Referral Nurse, you’ll provide high-quality nursing care to patients with a diverse range of complex medical and neurological conditions. /n You will: /n /n
- Provide exceptional nursing care across Internal Medicine, Neurology and Oncology. /n
- Assist with advanced diagnostics, procedures and treatments. /n
- Manage patient admissions, hospitalisation, monitoring and discharge. /n
- Perform technical nursing skills including venepuncture, IV catheterisation and anaesthesia monitoring. /n
- Work closely with specialists, veterinarians and the wider multidisciplinary team. /n
- Communicate compassionately with clients throughout their pet’s treatment journey. /n




- Support and mentor DVM students during their clinical rotations. /n
- Share your knowledge and contribute to the development of junior nurses and the wider team. /n /n We’re looking for someone who is curious, motivated and excited by the opportunity to work with complex referral cases. /n Ideally, you will have: /n /n
- Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing or equivalent – essential. /n
- At least 2 years of veterinary nursing experience, with referral or specialist experience highly regarded. /n
- Strong technical nursing and patient care skills. /n
- An interest or experience in Internal Medicine, Neurology or Oncology. /n
- A passion for learning, teaching and mentoring others. /n
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills. /n
