This role sits in APAC and works across Engage product areas alongside product teams in the region and the global design team. You will often be the only designer in a given product area, so you will need to set your own direction, decide where design effort is best spent, and bring your partners along with you.

The APAC design team works to a shared focus (Hedgehog Concept) and you would be expected to align to it and contribute to it. What we are best at is turning customer and product insight into design that moves the business, not just how it looks but how it performs. Our economic engine is turning that insight into two things. Fewer blockers between a customer and their next message, and more capabilities they will pay to add. Both grow gross profit.

Decision Making & Scope

- Works with a high degree of autonomy. Owns design decisions end to end within assigned product areas, from problem framing through to hand-off, without day to day direction.
- Applies judgement where requirements are ambiguous or competing. Decides which problems warrant research, which existing patterns to reuse and which to extend, and when a design is ready to ship.
- Reports to the Senior Manager, Product Design APAC for performance and development. Works with the Engage Product Design lead on project direction and prioritisation, so the work stays aligned to the Engage vision.
- Based in APAC and works across Engage product areas. Collaborates daily with a globally distributed design and product team across EMEA and North America.
- Key internal stakeholders are Product Managers, Engineering leads, the global Product Design team, Marketing, Sales and Support. Key external contact is with customers and prospects through research and testing.
- Design decisions here shape how customers experience the product, which flows through to activation, conversion, retention and support load. Weak decisions show up as rework for engineering and friction for customers.

Key Responsibilities

- Collaborate closely with product, design, and development team members to understand existing state functionality, establish new concepts, and determine the best way forward to align with our vision.
- Draft user workflows, wireframes, and other necessary artifacts to drive the design process toward a user-centered outcome.
- Draft high-fidelity screens and prototypes in Figma (using our robust design system), document necessary logic and edge cases, and communicate your design intent to a remote development team.
- Ensure that design intent is maintained through development and perform design QA before the design is ready for release.
- Engage in evaluative user research to test hypotheses, as needed.
- Advocate for the value of human-centered design throughout the organization.
- Align your work to the team's Hedgehog Concept and account for it in the weekly design team meeting, covering how you have used AI to work differently, what you are getting best at, and how the work feeds the economic engine.

Success Measures

- Design work ships. Features owned by this role move from discovery through to release within the agreed cycle, with design QA completed before launch.
- Measurable movement on the product metrics attached to the work, such as activation, conversion, task completion or a reduction in support contacts.
- Product and engineering partners report that design input arrives early enough to shape the solution rather than decorate it.
- The design system is used and extended rather than worked around. New patterns are contributed back and documented for the wider team.
- Design decisions are backed by evidence. Hypotheses are tested before build wherever the risk warrants it.
- Operating independently within the first twelve months, needing direction on priorities rather than on craft.
- Contributes to how the team works through critique and improvements to design practice.
- Work traces back to the economic engine. Design output either removes a blocker between a customer and their next message or adds a capability customers will pay for.

Skills and Competencies

- Working in a global team
- High attention to detail
- Confident and articulate communicator
- Ability to collaborate and build strong internal and external relationships
- Sound knowledge with front end development technologies
- Works autonomously with minimal direction and is comfortable being the only designer in a product area
- Sets direction in ambiguity rather than waiting for a fully formed brief
- Strong written communication for an async, globally distributed team
- Confident facilitating workshops, critique and stakeholder sessions
- Uses AI tooling to speed up research synthesis and day to day design workflow

Experience

- Proven experience working as a Product Designer.
- Have product design experience at a SaaS company
- Have experience with CRM/ERP products or messaging software.
- At least 3 years designing digital products, including time owning a product area end to end
- A portfolio showing both user research and UI execution, not one at the expense of the other
- Track record of shipping features for web applications and seeing them through development
- Experience running evaluative research and usability testing to settle design questions
- Experience working in an agile team with Product Managers and Engineers
- Experience working across time zones in a distributed team
- Proficient with Figma, and comfortable using Jira and Confluence

Education and Qualifications

- Qualified in UX, Graphic Design or Industrial Design.
- Equivalent practical experience evidenced by a portfolio is equally acceptable.

Who are we?

Edrolo is a leading EdTech provider headquartered in Melbourne, providing educational resources to over 200,000 students, 17,000 teachers, and 1000 schools across Australia, with a focus on Years 7-12. We provide full-service teaching and learning resources, from textbooks through to high-quality video lessons and exams, complete with analytics and dashboards to make learning fun and effective!

The Product & Design team owns the product experience across teacher workflows, student study loops, assessments, insights surfaces, and administrative workflows. This role operates within a small, cross-functional team and collaborates closely with Engineering, Education, and customer-facing teams. The Lead Product Designer reports to the Head of Product & Design and works within a team that includes other designers and product managers.

Position summary

The Lead Product Designer is Edrolo's most senior design practitioner. The role leads discovery on the highest-priority, most ambiguous product opportunities and shapes what gets built, not only how it looks and behaves.

The Lead holds the design quality bar across the whole product and lifts the capability of the product design across the entire organisation through influence and mentoring.

Responsibilities

Problem framing. Turn ambiguous requests into validated, prioritised problems. Bring evidence, explore more than one plausible direction before converging, and name the assumptions and the smallest test that de-risks them before the team commits to build.

Continuous discovery. Research with teachers, students and school leaders through interviews, in-context observation and concept testing. Pair qualitative insight with product analytics (Mixpanel, Omni) to find where users get stuck and whether what shipped changed behaviour.

The craft bar. Own interaction quality, accessibility and visual coherence across the product. Steward the design system as shared infrastructure with engineering, trading system purity for user and business value when they conflict.

Engineering partnership. No handoffs. Engineers join at problem framing; the Lead stays through implementation, prototyping in code where it gives a truer answer, with AI tools as standard practice at every stage.

Team capability. Mentor the product designers through critique and specific feedback on product judgement, research rigour and craft. The team getting measurably better over time is a core accountability of this role.

Outcomes. Every significant piece of work carries a success measure set before build and a post-launch review. The Lead is accountable for whether the work moved outcomes for teachers and students, not whether it shipped.

Senior UX Designer (Mobile) - Hipster Whale

About Us

At Hipster Whale, we're passionate about creating bright and funny arcade action games that appeal to broad audiences - games that players will continue to enjoy for years to come!

We're looking for an experienced Senior UX Designer to help us shape and champion excellent player experiences across our titles.

About the Role and Studio

Do you dream in elegant game loops? Do you want a hand-on role where you can play a big part in a relatively small team, working on positively impacting millions of players? Do you want to know why the chicken crossed the road? We’d like to hear from you!

You’ll bring a track record of shipped games (including mobile titles) and a deep understanding of what keeps players engaged. You'll own the UX vision across multiple titles, shaping experiences from quick prototype concepts through to full feature and product rollouts. This is a hands-on role, and selection will be practical portfolio and communication skill based.

This is a full-time, ongoing position. We’re ideally looking for someone based in Melbourne and available to start as soon as possible. Remote arrangements may be considered for the right candidate, with preference given to applicants based locally. Remote candidates should have significant overlap with standard Australian business hours, or be willing to adjust their schedule accordingly. Applicants based in Australia must hold appropriate Australian working rights.

Hipster Whale supports a hybrid working arrangement, with a minimum of two days per week in our Melbourne studio — currently Mondays and Thursdays. We also support flexibility to accommodate individual needs wherever possible.

We’re proud to foster an inclusive and welcoming work environment. We encourage applications from people of all backgrounds, identities and perspectives.

What You’ll Do

- Create, revise, refine and advise on the UX journey and information presentation across the studio’s games
- Produce wireframes, user flows, prototypes, and high-fidelity mock-ups that communicate design decisions clearly to the team and stakeholders
- Be able to iterate quickly with MVP visuals, and advise when it’s necessary to add polish or added communication feedback for the evaluation of the UX to be validated
- Collaborate with the product & development teams to regularly review implemented designs on device and in-engine, test the player experience, and iterate based on design direction, playtesting and analytics
- Partner with product and creative leadership to identify the right problems to solve, and draw on your knowledge to map and improve the player experience holistically
- Champion player-centric design principles across the studio and help raise the bar by mentoring the team and sharing your knowledge
- Participate actively in design reviews, offering considered feedback to others and actively seeking feedback on your own work
- Help create a psychologically safe, collaborative environment where people feel comfortable sharing ideas, raising concerns and taking creative risks.
- Be a strong advocate for the quality of our games and our team values.

What We’re Looking For

- Hands-On Experience - 5+ years of commercial UX design experience, with a portfolio demonstrating meaningful improvements to the player experience that you can talk to. You are comfortable in Figma and other prototyping tools
- Strong foundational knowledge of design principles - sometimes you break the rules, but it’s not because you don’t know them
- A love of behavioural Psychology - you love to lock in on player motivations, can watch out for cognitive overload, and you understand the ways to trigger joyful feedback and play loops that drive engagement
- Understanding of Information Architecture & Interactive Design - you possess a demonstrated ability to clearly present complicated information, a solid understanding of information hierarchy, and able to find the right placement and sequence of delivery - not just on screen layout, but also in flow
- Knowledge of Accessibility & Usability - you’re thoughtful about physical strain when designing input placements, you tailor design to hardware, and make sure text and cues are readable. You understand not everyone experiences the world the same way, and that our goal is to share our game experiences as widely as possible
- Game Engine Awareness - basic familiarity with how games are technically held together (if you can get hands-on, all the better)
- Be a UX Evangelist - Stay current with mobile & games UX patterns, platform developments, and industry best practices, and bring relevant insights back to the team
- Product Minded - you understand and maintain the various business objectives at play, while working to make amazing experiences for our players. You have a maturity about commercial creativity
- Collaborative Team Communicator - Experience working cross-functionally, and able to respectfully advocate for design decisions and engage constructively when challenged
- Player of Games - you play widely and enjoy unpicking emerging trends
- Good Sense of Playfulness - Alongside the elegant design, you enjoy bringing surprise & delight, and maybe a little silliness to work

Bonus Points

- UI and graphic design skills (UX is the core function, but being able to illustrate and direct graphic design effectively towards the final execution is highly valued)
- Experience in User Research sessions and reports

Critical Info

- Competitive salary, based on skills and experience
- This is a full-time, on-going position
- Applications are open until Sunday, November 1st, 2026.
- We aim to move through the recruitment process as quickly as possible and will respond to all applicants regardless of the outcome.
- Due to the large volume of applications we receive, we’re unfortunately not able to provide specific feedback to each applicant.

To apply, please upload:

- Your CV which includes a link to your portfolio or reel
- A link to one piece of work which you think showcases your suitability for Hipster Whale and this role specifically

Lyrebird Health is looking for a Lead Product Designer to own design as a discipline,

spanning discovery through to ownership of the design system. This is the most senior design voice at Lyrebird: you set the standard everyone else designs against.

You'll report to the Head of Product Operations, working closely with our CEO/Founder, owning the whole arc of product design from problem framing and strategy through to shipped UI, and setting the architecture, the design system, and the standard the people around you are measured against.

Lead Product Designer The Role

Lyrebird Health is looking for a Lead Product Designer to own design as a discipline, spanning discovery through to ownership of the design system.

About Us

Every day in Australia, 10 people die from preventable medical errors, not from incurable diseases, but from misdiagnosis, missed information, and clinicians making decisions under impossible pressure. At the centre of that failure is a doctor spending 40% of their day on paperwork instead of patients. Lyrebird is fixing that.

We turn real clinical conversations into accurate notes, automatically, then go further, connecting to the systems clinicians already use, automating the admin around a consult, and keeping patients in the loop too.

Thousands of clinicians use Lyrebird every day, in settings where accuracy, safety, and time matter enormously.

What you'll do

- Build the product that people love: design experiences that solve users' real-world problems and feel intuitively obvious from the very first use

- Discovery ownership: talk to clinicians directly, map jobs-to-be-done, and complete primary research with real clinicians in double figures before calling anything validated. Continuous discovery is baked into your process, not bolted on

- End-to-end product design: own the whole arc, from problem framing and strategy through to shipped UI. Build prototypes, run interviews, and design the UX research to test your own hypotheses, rather than waiting for it to land in your lap

- AI-native delivery: you set the standard. Fluent in a Claude/Figma workflow, you'll prototype and ship in code (Cursor, Claude Code, MCPs) rather than handing over static screens

- Design systems architecture: define the design system's architecture and underlying UX ontology, and keep the component library healthy day to day, so both designers and AI can implement against it consistently as we scale

- Cross-functional partnership: partner with Product and Engineering, bringing a clear point of view on prioritisation and the outcomes that matter to the business

- Velocity and urgency: set and hold the cycle time from problem to signed-off design, flag slippage the moment you see it, and build the systems and standards that let the rest of the function ship on-standard without bottlenecking on you

- Leadership: raise the bar for the people around you, mentoring and coaching the designer working alongside you

What you'll bring

- A track record owning ambiguous, 0-to-1 product problems end to end, from framing through to shipped work without a leader defining the brief for you

- Experience owning a design system's architecture and evolution, not just contributing components to one someone else built

- Genuine fluency in an AI-native workflow, comfortable prototyping and shipping in code, including hands-on experience with MCPs or agentic coding tools

- Fluency in agentic design within a software development lifecycle, not just prompting AI tools, understanding how design integrates into how engineers actually build

- The product judgement to partner with Product as an equal, with a real point of view on business outcomes

Nice to have

- Experience in high-growth start-ups or high-pace US-based SaaS businesses

- Experience designing in clinical, healthcare, or other high-trust regulated environments

Our Advantages

- Parental Leave: 14 weeks paid leave for primary caregivers, 4 weeks for secondary caregivers

- Flexible Work: a hybrid model for our Melbourne team, because great work happens in more places than the office

- Health & Wellbeing: wellness initiatives, yearly flu jabs, and free confidential access to our Employee Assistance Program

- Work from Anywhere: take up to 6 weeks a year to work from wherever inspires you

- Career Development: coaching, mentoring, courses, and lunch and learns. Growth here isn't accidental, it's something we invest in deliberately

- Social Club: monthly team lunches and quarterly offsites, because work is better when you genuinely like the people you do it with

- Breakfast & Snack Bar: a fully stocked kitchen, kombucha included

- Referral Program: earn real money for bringing great people into a great team

Every design decision you make here shows up in a clinician's day, in the minutes they get back with a patient instead of a keyboard. This is a role with real weight to it, and the chance to define what design at Lyrebird becomes as we grow.

We're building a team that reflects the diversity of the people who benefit from our work. We want Lyrebird to be a place where everyone feels safe, supported, and able to thrive. If you're from an underrepresented background in tech, we strongly encourage you to apply, even if you don't meet every requirement.

(i.e.,) are currently looking for a Junior Product Designer to join the team and own the technical delivery of products across a variety of client engagements. This role is designed to be a hands on, growth focused position for someone ready to build their craft on real client work, with plenty of support along the way.

Research indicates that certain demographic groups, such as women, may be less inclined to apply for a role unless they meet all the job requirements. If you're interested in this role, we strongly encourage you to apply, as you might be just what we're looking for.

About the opportunity

As a Junior Designer in our Product Design discipline, you will have the opportunity to work across a mix of website, app, and loyalty program work for large enterprise brands. Your primary role is to contribute to our client's design system, using strong Figma skills and good visual craft to bring ideas to life. An important part of your role is also to build your own sense of design taste, using AI as a thought partner rather than a shortcut, and to grow into presenting your own work with more ownership over time.

You will sit within a cross-functional team to support with:

- Contributing to a growing design system for a major client, working within its existing patterns and standards
- Designing across web, app, and customer loyalty experiences
- Turning client problems into clear concepts, prototypes, and testable ideas
- Explaining your design decisions and rationale to the team, with client presentation something you'll grow into
- Working in two week sprints, with larger pieces of work running across four to six week blocks
- Partnering with senior designers to learn how client relationships and business context shape good design

We're looking for someone with:

- Solid visual craft
- Basic product or UX thinking, the ability to take a problem and think it through, not just execute
- Curiosity and clear communication, including the ability to explain your thinking to others

It would also be great if you had experience in:

- Working with or contributing to design systems
- Prototyping
- Exposure to user research, even if you haven't run studies yourself

About You

- You're curious, and you genuinely want to understand how people use the things you design
- You lead with empathy, for users and for the people you work with

The opportunity

We're hiring a Senior Product Designer at Netwealth

Over the last 18 months we've been building an internal Product Design team from the ground up. What was once largely outsourced is now becoming a strategic capability at the centre of how we discover, shape and deliver products for advisers and their clients.

We're now looking for a Senior Product Designer to join the team in Melbourne.

This isn't a role for someone who just wants to make screens look good.

We're looking for a designer who loves understanding customer problems, shaping opportunities alongside Product and Engineering, and turning complexity into experiences that genuinely improve people's working lives.

What you'll be doing

- Leading discovery and research activities with financial advisers

- Helping shape product strategy, not just executing requirements

- Partnering closely with Product Managers and Engineers as part of a product trio

- Using evidence, experimentation and customer insight to influence decisions

- Coaching and lifting the capability of other designers through feedback and collaboration

You'll probably be a good fit if you

- Have 5+ years designing digital products

- Are comfortable moving from research and strategy into detailed interaction design

- Can facilitate conversations, challenge assumptions and influence stakeholders

- Care deeply about customer outcomes and measurable impact

- Enjoy working in ambiguity and helping teams find clarity

Why join?

We're building a design function that is moving beyond delivery and into problem framing, opportunity discovery and strategic influence. You'll have the opportunity to shape how design operates, contribute to major product initiatives, and help define the future of one of Australia's leading wealth platforms.
