About Rockfield Rockfield Technologies Australia is a growing engineering consultancy delivering practical and innovative solutions across the infrastructure, mining and resources sectors.

We are looking for an organised and detail-focused Finance Officer to join our Business Services team in Townsville.

This is a full-time contract position for up to 12 months, with the potential to transition to permanent full-time employment based on business requirements and performance.

About the role Working closely with our Finance Co-ordinator, you will provide day-to-day support across Rockfield’s finance and accounting activities.

This is a varied, hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working across different areas of finance, takes pride in accuracy and can confidently follow matters through to completion.

Key responsibilities include:

Payroll preparation and processing

Processing accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions

Completing financial reconciliations

Processing a range of financial transactions and related documentation

Maintaining supplier, creditor and finance system records

Assisting with information required for financial, taxation, compliance and audit activities

Following up outstanding invoices, approvals and supporting documentation

Responding to routine finance queries from employees, suppliers and clients

Supporting improvements to finance systems and processes

Providing broader Business Services support when required

About you You will be reliable, organised and comfortable managing recurring deadlines and competing priorities.



You will understand the importance of confidentiality, accuracy and appropriate financial controls.

Ideally, you will have:

Previous experience in an accounts, finance administration or similar role

Experience with accounts payable and/or accounts receivable

Solid numerical skills and excellent attention to detail

Good organisational and time-management skills

Confidence using accounting and general business systems

Strong written and verbal communication skills

The ability to identify discrepancies and follow up information

A professional and collaborative approach

The ability to handle confidential financial and employee information appropriately

Experience with payroll, invoicing, reconciliations, MYOB or similar finance systems will be highly regarded. A relevant qualification in accounting, bookkeeping, finance or business administration would also be advantageous.
