Job description

An established specialist legal practice is looking to appoint two Lawyers / Associates / Senior Associates to join a small team, with one opportunity covering Recent South Wales and the other Victoria.

This is an excellent opportunity for a lawyer with experience in litigation/disputes in mortgage/debt/loan recovery who is looking to take ownership of their matters, develop their technical expertise and work within a flexible, fully remote environment.

You will work on lender-side mortgage recovery and enforcement matters, managing files from initial instructions through to proceedings, possession, settlement and mortgagee sale. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to improving workflows, developing precedents and maintaining high standards of client service.

The Role Your responsibilities will include:

- Managing a portfolio of lender-side mortgage recovery and enforcement matters.
- Progressing litigation, including notices, court proceedings, possession and mortgagee sale work.
- Developing practical strategies to resolve complex or higher-risk matters.
- Providing clear, timely advice and updates to clients, managing expectations around risks, timeframes and next steps.
- Maintaining accurate file records, critical dates and matter progression.
- Contributing to the development of legal precedents,



processes and efficient ways of working.
- Depending on experience, supporting and reviewing the work of junior team members.

About You You will ideally bring:

- A minimum of 2+ PQE
- Experience in litigation, disputes, mortgage recovery, debt recovery or enforcement work.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to provide clear and commercially minded legal advice.
- Excellent organisation, attention to detail and the ability to manage competing deadlines.
- A proactive approach to file ownership, problem-solving and client service.
- The ability to work autonomously while collaborating effectively with a wider team.

Experience in lender-side mortgage recovery will be advantageous, although candidates with relevant litigation or disputes experience are encouraged to apply.
