About the role:
As the Cancer Care Coordinator, you will support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and their families throughout their cancer journey, from prevention and early detection through to treatment, recovery and end of life care. Working alongside communities and health professionals, you will help people navigate the health system, access appropriate services and receive culturally safe, holistic care and support.




This role focuses on providing culturally safe, compassionate and person centred support, helping people navigate health services, connect with the right supports and access the care they need.

Responsibilities:

- Support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and their families throughout their cancer journey.
- Promote cancer prevention, screening and early detection, and support access to treatment and ongoing care.
- Develop culturally appropriate health promotion resources and personalised care plans.
- Build strong relationships with clients, families, communities and health professionals to coordinate care and advocate for clients’ needs.
- Maintain accurate, confidential documentation and manage time and workload effectively.
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team while maintaining qualified knowledge, resilience and a commitment to continuous improvement.

To be eligible you must have:

- Current AHPRA registration with no restrictions
- A minimum of 2-3 years RN experience
- Strong understanding of cancer prevention, screening, treatment and supportive care principles
- Graduate Certificate or higher in a cancer related field,



currently studying towards one, or at least five years’ experience in cancer care.
- A commitment to culturally safe, patient centred and holistic healthcare
- A current driver's licence
- A genuine passion for improving health outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities
- Must have full Australian working rights (Australian Citizenship, Permanent Residency, a valid Working Visa, or New Zealand Citizenship)
