Gracie's Wine Room is looking for a creative Head Chef to run our South Yarra kitchen and craft wine bar snacks that keep guests ordering another glass.
About us
Gracie’s Wine Room is a neighbourhood wine bar in the heart of South Yarra, built around great wine, good company and snacks made to share. We’re a small, close-knit team that genuinely enjoys working together, and we’re looking for a Head Chef who’ll fit right in and help take our kitchen to the next level.
The role
As Head Chef, you’ll own the kitchen. You’ll lead the creation of a seasonal menu of wine bar snacks and small plates designed to sit alongside our wine list, and you’ll have real creative input into what goes on the plate. This is a hands-on, full-time role for someone who loves cooking, takes pride in consistency, and wants to build something they can call their own.
What you’ll be doing
- Designing and evolving a seasonal snack and small plates menu that pairs with our wines
- Running a tight, efficient kitchen during busy service
- Leading, training and supporting a small kitchen team
- Managing ordering,
stock control, food costs and supplier relationships
- Maintaining high standards of food safety, cleanliness and compliance
- Working closely with front-of-house to deliver a seamless guest experience
About you
- Previous experience as a Chef, Chef de Cuisine or solid Sous Chef ready to step up
- A genuine go-getter who takes initiative and doesn’t wait to be asked
- Creative with produce, with a feel for food that works with wine
- Calm under pressure and organised behind the scenes
- A team player who values a positive, supportive workplace
