About the Role

AMR Beauty Group is seeking an experienced Retail Buyer to join our team in Gregory Hills.

This role is responsible for selecting and purchasing hair, beauty and salon products for resale, analysing sales and stock performance, identifying market and consumer trends, managing supplier relationships and supporting the development of commercially successful product ranges.

The position also involves international sourcing and regular communication with overseas suppliers and manufacturers, including suppliers in China.

Key Responsibilities

- Select and purchase products for resale across the business
- Analyse sales performance, inventory levels and product movement
- Research market trends, recent products and changing customer demand
- Source and evaluate local and international suppliers
- Source products from overseas manufacturers, including suppliers in China
- Negotiate pricing, minimum order quantities, payment terms and supply conditions
- Negotiate product specifications, packaging, production timelines and delivery requirements
- Maintain and develop strong supplier relationships
- Manage purchase orders and ongoing supplier communications
- Monitor supplier performance, product quality, pricing and delivery schedules
- Develop seasonal purchasing plans and product ranges
- Monitor stock levels and purchasing requirements
- Support pricing, promotional and product-range strategies
- Prepare purchasing, stock and sales reports for management
- Attend supplier meetings, product presentations,



trade shows and industry events where required

Skills and Experience

The successful candidate will ideally have:

- Previous experience in retail buying, purchasing, procurement or merchandising
- Experience with international sourcing and supplier management
- Experience sourcing products from China or working with Chinese suppliers/manufacturers will be highly regarded
- Strong written and spoken Mandarin Chinese skills will be highly regarded due to regular communication with suppliers in China
- Strong spoken Cantonese skills will also be highly regarded
- Strong negotiation, analytical and commercial skills
- Experience analysing sales, stock and product performance
- Strong numerical, organisational and time-management skills
- Excellent communication and relationship-management skills
- Ability to identify consumer trends and commercial product opportunities
- Experience within the hair, beauty, cosmetics or professional salon industry will be highly regarded
- Relevant qualifications in business, retail, purchasing, merchandising or a related field will be advantageous
