Ready to take your plumbing or building experience off the tools and into a desktop-based role?

Ambrose Construct Group is seeking an experienced Desktop Building Assessor to join our team. This position is ideally suited to someone with a plumbing, insurance building, restoration or construction background who has strong knowledge of water damage and wants to apply their technical experience in a desktop environment.

Reporting to the National Make Safe Leader, you will assess Escape of Liquid claims, investigate causation, coordinate supporting evidence and prepare detailed reports to assist insurers with claim decisions.

About the Role

In this role, you will:

- Review and assess Escape of Liquid and water-related building claims

- Conduct virtual assessments to determine the cause and extent of damage

- Use your practical plumbing or building knowledge to assess causation

- Identify claims that may potentially fall outside policy coverage

- Coordinate plumbers, trades and other specialists to obtain supporting evidence

- Prepare clear and accurate causation and assessment reports for insurers

- Liaise with customers, insurers, trades and internal teams

- Maintain accurate documentation across internal and insurer systems

- Help progress claims efficiently while providing excellent customer service

About You

In this role,



you will:

You may currently be working as a Plumber, Insurance Building Assessor, Restoration Technician, Building Supervisor or within insurance claims and be ready for something different.

Ideally, you’ll bring:

- A plumbing background or strong knowledge of plumbing and water-related building damage

- Experience within plumbing, construction, insurance building, restoration, claims or a related field

- Strong knowledge of building practices and the ability to understand the cause of property damage

- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

- Strong written communication and report-writing abilities

- Confidence communicating with customers, insurers and trades

- Strong attention to detail and accuracy

- The ability to manage multiple claims and priorities

- A positive and customer-focused approach
