New Porgera Limited (NPL) is a company incorporated in Papua Current Guinea and owns the Porgera Gold Mine in Enga Province. NPL is a joint venture between Barrick Gold Corporation, Zijin Mining, and the Papua New Guinea Government, combining global mining expertise with a shared commitment to responsible resource development and long-term value creation for Papua New Guinea.The Porgera Gold Mine will employ nearly 3,000 Papua New Guineans at full production and, over its 30-year operating history, has contributed approximately 10% of Papua New Guinea's total annual exports, making it one of the country's most significant economic assets.About the roleReporting to the Manager - Health and Safety, the Superintendent - Occupational Health & Safety provides leadership and oversight of the site's health and safety function, driving continuous improvement in safety performance, risk management, and regulatory compliance.You will provide visible safety leadership across the operation, partnering with site leaders, employees and contractors to achieve health and safety objectives. Lead and develop the Safety team, oversee the Safety Management System, risk registers, critical control assurance, audits and incident investigations, and drive continuous improvement in safety performance. Act as delegate for the Manager – Health and Safety when required, while supporting occupational health, emergency preparedness and response. Oversee contractor safety, training and competency development for PNG national and expatriate employees, monitor and report safety performance, and build a proactive, culturally aware safety culture. Maintain effective relationships with regulators, including the Mineral Resources Authority (MRA), and ensure compliance with legislative, company and industry requirements.About youQualifications:Tertiary qualification in Occupational Health & Safety, Workplace Health & Safety, Risk Management,
