About the Role

Your Story Community Supports is seeking a compassionate, reliable and personable Disability Support Worker to provide individualised, person-centred support to a participant based in Dural, NSW.

We are looking for someone who is warm, friendly and engaging, with strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships while supporting the participant's independence, dignity and wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist with personal care, mobility support and daily living activities.
- Provide household assistance and support with everyday tasks.
- Accompany the participant to appointments, community activities and social outings.
- Support the participant's independence, choice and community participation.
- Build positive rapport through friendly conversation and meaningful engagement.
- Follow individualised support plans and maintain accurate documentation.
- Ensure a safe, respectful and supportive environment.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

- Previous experience in disability support, preferably within SIL or individualised support environments.
- Confidence in providing personal care, manual handling and mobility assistance.
- Experience supporting participants with complex or high support needs is highly regarded.
- Experience supporting participants with psychosocial disability or mental health needs is an advantage.
- Strong spoken English communication skills to support clear and effective interaction with the participant.
- A warm, friendly and personable approach, with the ability to engage positively in conversation.
- Strong documentation, organisational and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to work independently while following individualised support and care plans.
- A reliable,



patient and qualified approach to person-centred care.
- The ability to maintain a smoke-free environment during shifts.

Candidates residing in Dural or surrounding suburbs are encouraged to apply. Applicants from other areas who can reliably commute to Dural are also welcome.

Essential Requirements

- Minimum Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) or equivalent qualification.
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check.
- National Police Check.
- Working With Children Check, where applicable.
- Current First Aid and CPR certifications.
- Completion of the NDIS Worker Orientation Module.
- Current Australian Driver's Licence.
- Access to a reliable, registered and comprehensively insured vehicle suitable for the participant's mobility and transport needs. A sedan or hatchback is preferred due to vehicle accessibility requirements.
- Valid Australian working rights.
