About the Role

Lead an agile engineering team building cloud-native software products for the critical infastructure sector. You’ll work closely with product and engineering colleagues to shape delivery, make sound technical decisions and keep customer and business outcomes in focus.

This is a hands-on technical leadership opportunity with a preference to working with backend technologies, you will working with engineers using .NET and JavaScript (React). You’ll help the team deliver effectively while strengthening engineering practices, mentoring people and contributing to broader technology capability.

What You'll Be Doing

- Lead an agile product team to deliver roadmap priorities and sprint outcomes.
- Guide the design of scalable, reliable and maintainable software solutions.
- Partner with product managers, designers and other stakeholders on customer-focused decisions.
- Support backend development with the engineering team, including .NET.
- Promote DevOps, CI/CD, automation, test practices and continuous delivery.
- Mentor and coach engineers, supporting a collaborative, high-performing team.
- Contribute to technology strategy, engineering standards and continuous improvement.
- Help manage technical risks, monitoring, operational performance and service reliability.

What You'll Need (Essential)





- Experience leading software engineering teams in agile, cross-functional or distributed product environments.
- Experience delivering cloud-native SaaS products and applying DevOps, CI/CD, automation and continuous delivery.
- Experience designing and implementing scalable, resilient and maintainable software architectures.
- Strong understanding of modern software engineering, including cloud-native architecture, microservices, APIs and distributed systems.
- Experience with cloud platforms, infrastructure automation, containerisation, monitoring and operational support.
- Strong stakeholder collaboration, communication and mentoring skills, with the ability to balance customer, technical and commercial needs.
- Experience with contemporary software development, automated testing and full-stack or systems development.

Nice to Have

- Experience in complex technology-driven environment.
- Relevant cloud, software architecture, agile delivery, DevOps or engineering leadership certifications.

The Details

- Salary: $170,000 to $175,000 plus Superannuation
- 2 Days a week in office.
