Commercial Analyst | Kyneton, Bendigo, Goldfields & Macedon Ranges VIC | Full time

At Central Steel Build, we design and fabricate steel buildings across Australia for the commercial, industrial and agricultural sectors.

This is a hands-on commercial finance role in a project-driven business. Reporting directly to the CFO, you’ll play a key role in analysing commercial performance, improving pricing accuracy, and helping the business maximise profitability.

Key responsibilities

- Analyse quoted versus delivered margins and prepare monthly gross profit and project margin reviews across live projects
- Support monthly Work in Progress (WIP) reporting, including accruals, cost-to-complete and margin forecasts
- Identify and report emerging commercial risks and opportunities across the project portfolio
- Deliver monthly commercial reporting, KPI dashboards (Power BI), budget inputs, business forecasting and variance analysis

What you’ll bring

- 3–5 years’ experience in a commercial analyst, financial analyst or similar role,



including at least 2 years in a project-based environment, ideally construction, manufacturing or engineering
- Robust understanding of job costing, WIP, variations and commercial risk
- Advanced Excel and financial modelling capabilities
- Experience with ERP and BI reporting systems, ideally NetSuite and Power BI
- Tertiary qualifications in Commerce, Accounting, Finance or a related discipline; CA/CPA (or progressing) desirable
