About the role
Trust and reliable service sit at the centre of this role. You’ll build relationships with property owners and tenants, keep communication clear and timely between clients, tenants and our internal team, and deliver reliable service every time.
You don’t need property experience to start. We hire people who are valuable with people, organised and ready to learn the property side of the job.
What you’ll do day to day
- Work with owners: keep them informed on what’s happening at their property, get their instructions on repairs and spending, and send regular reports.
- Answer tenant enquiries about maintenance, the condition of their home, rent, and lease questions, and follow each one through to a resolution.
- Arrange repairs and maintenance by getting quotes from trades, booking them in, following up on the work and checking it’s done properly.
- Keep compliance on track under Queensland residential tenancy legislation, including notices, bonds and safety requirements.
- Handle owner and tenant disagreements calmly, keeping both sides informed and negotiating an outcome. This is often the hardest part of the job.
How you’ll learn
- A structured induction into how we work, covering when to handle a situation yourself and when to pass it to a senior manager.
- You’ll work alongside a more senior property manager for as long as you need, realistically up to 12 months.
- Once you’ve completed induction,
you’ll become the main contact for your own portfolio.
- External training, including a membership with Real Estate Excellence, plus hands-on training from our team leader.
- You’ll need a real estate salesperson registration within three months of starting. You can start before you hold it, and we’ll support you through the course.
Career progression
Most growth comes through a larger portfolio and bringing in new clients.
Conditions
No on-call or after-hours rota. Standard full-time leave and conditions. A current driver’s licence is required.
What we’re looking for
- Knowledge of Queensland residential tenancy legislation (or a willingness to learn it)
- Strong communication and organisation skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities
- A professional approach to client relationships
Experience in property management is valued but not essential.
