About the Role

Piano Moves is looking for a reliable, physically fit and customer-focused Transport Driver’s Assistant to join our team in Dandenong South.

This is a hands-on role working alongside our drivers and experienced removal team to safely relocate pianos and other specialised instruments. You’ll be working in different locations each day, assisting with everything from residential moves to schools, music venues and commercial deliveries.

No two days are exactly the same. We’re looking for someone who enjoys physical work, works well as part of a team and takes pride in doing the job properly.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist with the safe handling, relocation and positioning of pianos and specialised instruments.
- Work closely with the driver or team leader and follow instructions throughout each job.
- Use piano-moving equipment correctly and help ensure equipment is accounted for and maintained.
- Protect customers’ property and instruments throughout the moving process.
- Communicate with customers in a professional, friendly and respectful manner.
- Assist with job documentation and other delivery requirements as required.
- Help keep trucks, equipment and work areas clean, organised and ready for the next day.
- Follow Piano Moves’ safety procedures, manual-handling requirements and operating procedures.
- Report any damage, incidents, hazards or equipment issues promptly.

What We’re Looking For

- Physically fit and comfortable performing demanding manual work.
- Reliable,

punctual and ready to work as part of a qualified transport team.
- Able to listen to instructions and follow established moving and safety procedures.
- Good communication skills and a professional approach when dealing with customers.
- Sufficient English literacy to understand job information, safety instructions and complete basic documentation.
- Willingness to learn specialised piano-moving techniques.
- Flexible with working hours, including early starts, longer days and Saturdays when required.
- A practical, team-focused attitude and willingness to help get the job done safely.

Previous removals, transport, furniture delivery or manual-handling experience is an advantage, but not essential. Specialist training will be provided.

Why Join Piano Moves?

- Learn a specialised trade rather than working in general freight or removals.
- Work with an experienced team handling a wide variety of pianos and instruments.
- Receive on-the-job training in specialist moving techniques and equipment.
- Varied work across different locations and job types.
- Supportive team environment where safety, teamwork and looking after the customer’s property matter.
- Opportunity to develop your skills and take on greater responsibility as you gain experience.
